120 Degree Wide-Cutting V Bit 1/4" Shank for CNC Routers

The Big Stiffy series 120-degree v-bit for CNC routers is the bit to use when you want wider, shallower cuts, and get your job done fast and clean. With a 1/4" shank, it is the go-to v carving bit for home-based CNC'ers when it comes to larger projects. The 'super-shear' blade design is designed to leave exceptionally clean cuts at higher feeds rates. This is the v bit to use when your v-carved letters are wider than 1/4" wide.

The Big Stiffy series 120-degree v-bit for CNC routers is the bit to use when you want wider, shallower cuts, and to get your job done fast and clean on your CNC router woodworking projects.

With a 1/4" shank, it is the go-to v carving bit when it comes to larger projects. The 'super-shear' blade design is designed to leave exceptionally clean cuts at higher feeds rates. This is the v bit to use when your v-carved letters are wider than 1/4" wide.

Why is it called the Big Stiffy? Overall, the bit length is a bit shorter than most. This little design modification keeps you bit stiffer during cuts, which gives you a 50% improvement in your surface finish. In other words, the potential for chatter is virtually eliminated. When 120-degree v bits are longer, they tend to cause 'chatter' (a rough surface finish caused by tool vibration and deflection)

This bit has a carbide blade brazed to a 4140 body.

120 Degree Wide-Cutting V Bit

Got the bit in a timely manner and set to put it right to work. Set to cut into a hard maple cutting board and I was not disappointed. It cut smoothly and cleanly. I was very pleased with this bit. Looking to get others in this line. IDC Woodcraft customer service has been super in getting all my bits to me quickly and safely. Will be doing business with them again.
