This 1/4 extra long straight router bit for CNC routers (1/4 shank) is the main cutting and finishing down cut extended length endmill for cutting guitar bodies, keepsake boxes, and other unusually thick woodworking projects, such as deep 3D carvings or recessed work. This extended 1/4" down-cutting bit will clean up your wood projects to a full 1.75"!

This type of long 1/4 bit is hard to find for such project work but is commonly needed. The down shear flutes keep the important top edge of your wood project clean to eliminate tear-out or chipping.

  1. 1.5" standard cut depth
  2. Capable of Up to 1.75" cut depth

This long 1/4 bit is not only for CNC routers. It can also be used in handheld trim routers to do manual woodworking projects.

For these reasons, you want to make sure your long 1/4" router bit is made right & built to last.

Built above industry standards and 100% tungsten carbide. Carbide is what professional metal machinists use to make complex items like car engines. It stays sharp 50x longer than conventional CNC router bits.

The "HOG" roughing bit is a recommended complementary bit to rough out all the wood of the 'bowl' part of the CNC router woodworking project. The HOG will do the heavy carving, leaving this specialty extended length bit to do the finish work.

To see why the HOG is a bit you want to get with your extended downcut bit, watch this video to see it in action.

Perfect for guitar bodies

I really like the bit. I use it for guitar bodies on my Longmill mk2. It’s my go to bit for pocketing and contouring thick body blanks.

Great companion to the app.

It's great ordering bits, and getting all info needed for each bit, including my router speed number.
The long bit works great, but the app is why I order IDC.

Tooling is good…IDC IS GREAT!

I honestly dont know how this company makes money….the instructional
videos are wonderful, the tooling quality is good, the tooling guarantee is over the top, but most of all, the service is EXTREMELY personal and attentive… i go to IDC …only if they dont have what im looking for…do i consider another source… heck…i buy extra stuff because I need to show my appreciation for their product and service.
