How do I determine the number of T-Tracks needed for my CNC router?
You want your tracks to be 4–6” (100–150 mm) apart center-to-center. If the distance is wider, clamp positioning may become difficult. A good average is 5” (125 mm).
To determine how many tracks you need, measure the total width of the cutting area (no need to measure depth).
For inches: divide the width by 5.
Example: 48” wide machine bed / 5 = 9.6
You will need 9 or 10 tracks.
For millimeters: divide the width by 125.
Example: 1220 mm wide machine bed / 125 = 9.7
You will need 9 or 10 tracks.
What if my machine depth is longer than one size track but shorter than the next size?
You’ll need to get the longer T-track and cut it to length.
