The PwnCNC Spindle System is our premium spindle upgrade package for customers who want a more complete installation experience than a basic spindle kit. Each system includes a spindle motor, pre-programmed VFD installed in our updated PwnCNC enclosure, spindle cable, power cord, collets, wrenches, and the selected machine/controller-specific options needed for your setup.

Whether you are upgrading from a trim router or building a high-performance CNC setup from the start, the PwnCNC Spindle System gives you smooth, quiet, reliable cutting power in a professionally assembled package.

Spindle System vs. Spindle Kit

The PwnCNC Spindle System is our more complete, plug-n-play spindle solution. It includes the major spindle kit components preassembled into a finished VFD enclosure for a cleaner, safer, and easier installation.

If you are looking for a lower-cost option and are comfortable handling more of the wiring, enclosure planning, and installation yourself, consider our PwnCNC Spindle Kit instead.

Our Spindle Systems now feature the updated PwnCNC VFD enclosure, designed to provide a cleaner, more finished installation with the VFD pre-installed, pre-programmed, and ready for your selected spindle configuration.

Important: This is a configurable bundle product. If you manually remove individual bundle components from your cart, those removed items will not ship, even if they were part of your original configuration.

Spindle Motor Options

• 1.5kW, 110V, 65mm, ER11 — air-cooled or water-cooled
• 1.5kW, 110V, 80mm, ER20 — air-cooled or water-cooled
• 2.2kW, 220V, 80mm, ER20 — air-cooled or water-cooled

Special-order spindle motors may be available upon request. Special orders typically require additional lead time.

Collets and Wrenches

ER11 spindle systems include:

• 1/16" ER11 collet
• 1/8" ER11 collet
• 1/4" ER11 collet
• 13mm and 17mm wrenches

ER20 spindle systems include:

• 1/8" ER20 collet
• 1/4" ER20 collet
• 1/2" ER20 collet
• 21mm and 30mm wrenches

Water-Cooled Models

Water-cooled spindle systems include a cooling pump and tubing. A coolant reservoir and coolant liquid are not included. Many customers use a dedicated bucket or reservoir with an appropriate coolant mixture.

The Silicon & Superthane upgraded tubing is 10mm OD and may require minor adjustment or “massaging” to fit through the standard compression nuts on some water-cooled spindle motors. For a cleaner fit, consider adding our Kool Connectors.

Air-Cooled Models

Air-cooled spindle systems do not require a cooling pump, coolant reservoir, coolant liquid, or water-cooling tubing. These are a great option for customers who want a simpler spindle setup without managing a coolant loop.

Please make sure your CNC machine has the proper spindle mount size and enough clearance for the selected motor.

Build Time and Availability

PwnCNC Spindle Systems are assembled, configured, and tested in-house before shipment. While we keep many components in stock, each system is built based on your selected motor, voltage, cooling style, and controller-related options.

Most spindle systems ship within 1–2 weeks. Depending on motor availability, special-order components, or current order volume, lead time may extend to 4–6 weeks.

Compatibility

PwnCNC Spindle Systems are compatible with many popular CNC machines, including Onefinity, Shapeoko, and other CNC platforms when configured correctly. Some machines require controller-specific cables, mounts, brackets, or setup steps.

Important Notes

• This is not the same product as our basic PwnCNC Spindle Kit.
• This system still requires proper installation, grounding, mounting, and machine-specific setup.
• The spindle cable shield must be properly drained to ground for optimal EMI performance.
• Water-cooled models require coolant liquid and a reservoir, sold separately.
• Air-cooled models do not require coolant liquid, coolant tubing, or a cooling pump.
• Support for non-PwnCNC controllers or third-party CNC machines may be limited by the controller or machine manufacturer’s documentation.
• Always follow proper electrical safety practices when installing spindle equipment.
