PwnCNC Spindle Kit

Upgrade your CNC with a powerful, configurable spindle kit built around your machine, voltage, cooling preference, and spindle size.

The PwnCNC Spindle Kit is our budget-friendly spindle upgrade package for customers who want the core components needed to add a VFD-controlled spindle to their CNC. Each kit is configured based on your selections and includes a spindle motor, pre-programmed VFD, spindle cable, collets, wrenches, and cooling components when applicable.

This kit is a great option for customers who are comfortable completing the final installation, mounting, enclosure planning, and machine-specific control wiring themselves.

Spindle Kit vs. Spindle System

This product is a configurable spindle kit. It includes the major spindle components, but it does not include a fully enclosed, plug-and-play VFD enclosure.

If you want a cleaner, more complete installation experience, consider our PwnCNC Spindle System instead. The Spindle System includes the spindle kit components preassembled into an integrated VFD enclosure for a more finished installation.

Important: This is a configurable bundle. If you manually remove individual bundle components from your cart, those removed items will not ship, even if they were part of your original selections.

Spindle Motor Options

• 1.5kW, 110V, 65mm, ER11 — air-cooled or water-cooled
• 1.5kW, 110V, 80mm, ER20 — air-cooled or water-cooled
• 2.2kW, 220V, 80mm, ER20 — air-cooled or water-cooled
• 3.5kW, 220V, square-body, ER32 — air-cooled
• 4.5kW, 220V, square-body, ER32 — air-cooled

Pre-launch note: The 3.5kW and 4.5kW square-body ER32 air-cooled spindle kits are being offered as pre-launch ordering options. These larger air-cooled kits are not standard in-stock spindle kits at launch and may require additional lead time before shipment.

Collets and Wrenches

ER11 spindle kits include:

• 1/16" ER11 collet
• 1/8" ER11 collet
• 1/4" ER11 collet
• 13mm and 17mm wrenches

ER20 spindle kits include:

• 1/8" ER20 collet
• 1/4" ER20 collet
• 1/2" ER20 collet
• 21mm and 30mm wrenches

ER32 spindle kits include:

• Assorted ER32 collet set with approximately 21 common sizes
• ER32-compatible spindle wrenches

The new ER32 square-body spindle kits include a broader collet assortment than our standard ER11 and ER20 kits. Since ER32 tooling is new to the PwnCNC spindle kit lineup, these kits are being bundled with a wider range of collet sizes to help customers get started with larger tooling right away.

Water-Cooled Models

Water-cooled spindle kits include a cooling pump and tubing. A coolant reservoir and coolant liquid are not included. Many customers use a dedicated bucket or reservoir with an appropriate coolant mixture.

The Silicon & Superthane upgraded tubing is 10mm OD and may require minor adjustment or “massaging” to fit through the standard compression nuts on some water-cooled spindle motors. For a cleaner fit, consider adding our Kool Connectors.

Air-Cooled Square-Body ER32 Models

The 3.5kW and 4.5kW air-cooled square-body spindle kits are designed for customers who want a larger, more powerful spindle option with ER32 tooling support. These spindles are air-cooled, so they do not require a cooling pump, coolant reservoir, coolant liquid, or water-cooling tubing.

These larger spindle kits are best suited for CNC machines and installations that can properly support the additional spindle size, weight, power requirements, mounting needs, and electrical requirements. Please verify compatibility with your machine before ordering.

The included VFD should be installed safely and properly. We recommend enclosing the VFD in an appropriate enclosure as part of your installation.

Build Time and Availability

PwnCNC Spindle Kits are assembled, configured, and tested in-house before shipment. While we keep many components in stock, each kit is built based on your selected motor, voltage, cooling style, and controller-related options.

Most standard spindle kits ship within 1–2 weeks. Depending on motor availability, special-order components, or current order volume, lead time may extend to 4–6 weeks.

Pre-launch ER32 availability: The 3.5kW and 4.5kW square-body ER32 air-cooled spindle kits are pre-launch ordering options and are not expected to ship on the same timeline as standard in-stock kits. Estimated lead times may vary as we finalize availability, incoming inventory, and kit configuration details.

Compatibility

PwnCNC Spindle Kits are compatible with many popular CNC machines, including Onefinity, Shapeoko, and other CNC platforms when configured correctly. Some machines require controller-specific cables, mounts, brackets, or setup steps.

The larger 3.5kW and 4.5kW square-body ER32 spindle kits may require additional planning for mounting, clearance, machine rigidity, electrical service, and controller setup. Please review compatibility documentation and machine-specific installation guides before ordering.

Important Notes

• This is not the same product as our enclosed PwnCNC Spindle System.
• This kit requires proper installation, grounding, mounting, and machine-specific setup.
• The spindle cable shield must be properly drained to earth ground on the VFD side.
• Controller cables are sold separately unless specifically selected or included.
• Water-cooled models require coolant liquid and a reservoir, sold separately.
• Air-cooled models do not require coolant liquid, coolant tubing, or a cooling pump.
• VFD enclosure is not included and is recommended for safe installation.
