Ultra-Smooth Cut 1" Surfacing Bit For CNC Router Spoilboard & Slab Flattenning, 1/4 Shank

This ultra-smooth cutting 1 inch surfacing bit is built for higher performance than the standard 3-flute 1" surfacing bit you commonly find. Used in your CNC router to surface or flatten your CNC router spoilboard, as well as slab flattening, the modified cutting angles and added 4th flute result in longer life, higher feed rates and, most importantly, superior smoothness.

  • Made for standard home-based routers
  • 1" diameter, 1/4" shank, carbide tipped
  • Tool library settings are in the description

Description

This 1-inch ultra-smooth cut surfacing bit is used in your CNC router to surface or flatten your CNC router spoilboard (also called a spoiler board, or waste board), as well as slab flattening.

This particular surfacing bit is a redesign of the traditional surfacing bits you'll find for CNC routers to give you much better performance.

  1. The forward cutting angle is decreased so you can achieve much higher feed rates
  2. The grind angle for both the front and the bottom of the surfacing bit is shallower to increase the life of the bit.
  3. Most important, a 4th flute has been added to achieve a superior smooth cut on the CNC wood project piece.

You'll find the surfacing bit is a necessary bit almost immediately after you get your CNC router. This is because most spoil boards (a.k.a waste board or spoiler board) are not parallel to the router motion. So you need a flattening bit to resurface it.

Receiving your new CNC router is exciting. One of the first tasks you will want to do is level up your spoilboard for 2 reasons.

  1. Your projects will out even.
  2. You won't cut into your spoilboard at high spots.

Spoilboard resurfacing is actually a very common thing that has to be done with new CNC routers, as well and reconditioning the surface after it has been cut into many times.

This 1" diameter surfacing bit is made specifically for hobby and semi-professional CNC'ers. It is made to get effective clean-up on your spoilboard in one pass at high feed rates.

Must have bits for the CNC

I was hesitant to order. But damn!!!!!!! The ultra smooth flattening bit is the SH$t!!!!! Alter your path to start and change directions of the board and money!!!!!! It is my go to flattening bit. No directional lines even on end grain boards. Great finish and you can definitely push the feed rates reducing cut times.

Clean fast bit!

This but gets it done. It cuts efficiently and leaves a nice clean surface. Love having the settings preloaded in vectric

1" surface bit

This bit is awesome, It makes surfacing so much easier than trying to do it by hand.

It cuts good but it burns the hardwood. Softwood is ok.
